Great White Sharks Hunting Seals in South Africa. Spectacular Photographs
Any predator hunting its prey is a rare event for people to witness, shark hunting photos are even more difficult to capture. Having specialised in searching for Great white sharks hunting cape fur seals at Seal Island Chris Fallows has recorded over 1700 of these events. These hunting events are extremely difficult to capture and a true understanding of the area, knowledge of both shark and seal and complete respect for the event is needed to capture shark hunting photos of white shark in full hunting mode. It is his patience and respect that have made Chris famous for his Great White shark images.
A great white shark breaches the ocean as it hunts in False Bay, South Africa. This lethal 20 foot long leaping shark may look like it has made a spectacular kill – but no seal was hurt during the shooting of these pictures. Michael Rutzen, from Kleinbaai, South Africa used a five foot-long foam and fibreglass dummy seal tied to his boat to lure the sharks out of the water.
